Allergic Rhinitis (Nasal Allergies)
Allergic rhinitis; It occurs as a result of the reaction of the tissues in the nose and the reaction of the immune system to allergens against the allergens that enter our body. As a result of the body's contact with the allergen, the immune system releases Histamine, a natural chemical.
After allergens enter the body through the respiratory, skin or gastrointestinal tract, the reaction begins, histamine release occurs. If it enters the respiratory system, itching, sneezing, congestion, discharge and coughing begin in the nose. If it enters the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal pain and diarrhea begin. Itching, redness and swelling starts on the skin.
Causes of Allergic Rhinitis?

What are the Symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis?
Nasal congestion, runny nose,
Sneezing and coughing,
Pain in the throat, itching and stinging sensation,
Smell and taste disorder,
Fullness, obstruction in the ear
Dry cough,
Eye watering, itching and bagging in custody,

Diagnosis of Allergic Rhinitis;

First of all, the symptoms seen in the patient,
The connection of the symptoms with the seasons,
The condition of the nasal mucosa in examination,
Blood and snot tests,
Allergy tests applied to the skin,
Even if the results of the tests are negative, they diagnose examination and symptoms.
Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis;
Treatment is aimed at eliminating complaints,
Treatment is planned according to the organ affected by allergies,
Antihistamines are used,
Cortisone sprays are used inside the nose,
Hyposensification (vaccine treatment) is done,
Avoid additives containing colored and dyed foods in children,
If detected, contact should be cut off from allergic stimuli,
What should allergies pay attention to?
Not being in a dusty and pollen environment,
Keeping the doors and windows closed during the pollen season,
Air must be humidified in houses with heating,
The rooms should be ventilated periodically,
Pets should not be fed at home, plants should not be grown,
Synthetic ones should be preferred over fluffy and woolen blankets,
Items such as carpets that will contain dust on the floor should not be used,
Perfumes and bleach odors should be avoided,
It should not be in air conditioner environment or there should be pollen filter in air conditioners,
Patients with allergic rhinitis should prefer open air sports activities and do this at noon,
Should not use fragrance sprays in rooms and cars,
Stress, hard work and additive foods increase allergy.
